Audi A2 e-tron exterior
The Audi A2 e-tron exterior reinterprets the original A2 monovolume with a 0.24 drag coefficient, six paint colors, 18–20 inch wheels and flush electric door releases.
The A2 e-tron is the rare modern car where the styling and the engineering brief point in exactly the same direction. Audi wanted the most efficient car it has ever built, and the shape that delivers that happens to be the shape the original A2 already had: a rounded nose, a long roof, short overhangs and a tall, narrow body.

Design language
The proportions are the 1999 A2’s, scaled up. At 4,324 mm long, 1,789 mm wide and 1,583 mm tall on a 2,770 mm wheelbase, the car is roughly the size of a Volkswagen ID.3, but the visual language is far closer to the original monovolume than to anything else in the current compact class.
Distinctive elements include:
- A split rear window, directly quoting the first A2
- Pronounced wheel-arch creases that also serve an aerodynamic purpose
- A stepped side window graphic that visually lengthens the cabin
- Short overhangs at both ends, with the wheels pushed out to the corners
- A sharply cut tail with an integrated roof spoiler

Aerodynamics
The drag coefficient of 0.24 is the best figure in Audi’s compact segment and matches the far larger and more expensive e-tron GT. Audi says the full aerodynamic package cuts WLTP consumption by as much as 0.9 kWh/100 km compared with the same car without it.
The measures that get it there:
- Active cooling-air shutters that stay closed whenever extra cooling is not required
- Air curtains that guide airflow around the front wheels instead of into the arches
- Gap reducers integrated into the wheel-arch trim, closing the turbulent gap ahead of each tire
- Gap breather elements behind the wheels
- Aerodynamically optimized wheels paired with low-rolling-resistance tires
- A largely enclosed underbody with a clean transition into the rear diffuser
- A roof spoiler working with the split rear window to control flow separation
- Flush electric door releases with haptic sensors, replacing conventional handles
The door releases keep a mechanical backup on the inside, so occupants can always get out if the electrical system fails.

Exterior lines
Two exterior treatments are available:
Base line — the restrained interpretation, with softer bumper surfaces and body-colored detailing. This is also the specification behind the highest published range figures.
S line — more sharply drawn front and rear bumpers, black design elements around the lower body and the window graphic, and a visually lower stance.
Paint colors
Six colors are offered at launch:

Horizon blue, Arrow gray and Pistachio green are new for the A2 e-tron and carry most of the launch imagery. Daytona gray and Mythos black are long-running Audi colors carried over.
Wheels and tires
Wheels run from 18 to 20 inches, with tire widths between 225 and 235 mm. Audi recommends the 19-inch aero design as the best balance of appearance and efficiency — the largest wheels cost meaningful range, which is why the published WLTP figures differ by up to 66 km between the leanest and the fullest specification.
All wheel designs in the range are aerodynamically optimized to some degree, with closed or partially closed faces rather than the open spoke patterns typical of the segment.

Lighting
The A2 e-tron carries LED headlights as standard, with Matrix LED headlights available as an option in the higher equipment packages. Both front and rear lighting units are shaped to sit flush with the surrounding bodywork, avoiding the aerodynamic penalty of deeply recessed lamp housings.
Charge port
The charge port sits on the right rear side of the car, with a CCS2 connector for European markets covering both AC and DC charging through a single flap.
