The AUDI E5 Sportback is a China-exclusive all-electric model developed under a new cooperation framework between Audi and SAIC. The AUDI brand was introduced in Shanghai in November 2024, and the production E5 Sportback debuted at Auto Shanghai in April 2025. Instead of the traditional four rings, the car carries illuminated AUDI lettering, emphasizing its separate identity in China.

Positioned as a premium midsize electric fastback, the E5 Sportback targets tech-savvy urban customers who prioritize connectivity, digital ecosystems, and modern design alongside comfort and performance.

Production and pre-sales began in Anting, Shanghai, on August 18, 2025. The official market launch and first customer deliveries followed in September 2025.
