Technology is a central pillar of the AUDI E5 Sportback. The car is built on a deeply connected, intelligent platform co-developed with SAIC and delivers comprehensive driver assistance, ultra-fast charging, and a China-specific digital ecosystem.

Charging

The E5 Sportback supports 420 kW DC fast charging across all variants — one of the highest peak charging rates available in any production EV.

Sensor typeCount / Location
Radar3 (front + rear corners)
Cameras5 (windshield, rear center, four corners)
Ultrasonic12 (front and rear bumpers, B-pillars)

Note: LiDAR is referenced in some Pioneer quattro specification data but has not been independently confirmed across the lineup. It may reflect a future option or a data variation.

Safety

The manufacturer describes the body as engineered to a five-star safety standard, with high-strength steel accounting for more than 83.6% of the structure. The restraint system includes front, side, curtain, and front-center airbags. The model has not been assessed by Euro NCAP.

Connectivity

The infotainment platform is built on a proprietary AUDI OS, co-developed with SAIC and optimized for China’s digital ecosystem:

  • Native app store on vehicle screens
  • Built-in navigation with real-time traffic
  • Advanced Mandarin voice control
  • Apple CarPlay (Android Auto not supported)
  • Over-the-air (OTA) software updates
