AUDI E5 Sportback technology
The AUDI E5 Sportback combines rapid DC charging, comprehensive driver assistance, and a connected software platform developed for China.
Technology is a central pillar of the AUDI E5 Sportback. The car is built on a deeply connected, intelligent platform co-developed with SAIC and delivers comprehensive driver assistance, ultra-fast charging, and a China-specific digital ecosystem.
Charging
The E5 Sportback supports 420 kW DC fast charging across all variants — one of the highest peak charging rates available in any production EV.
| Pioneer | Pioneer Plus | Pioneer quattro | quattro | |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Battery (gross) | 100 kWh | 100 kWh | 83 kWh | 100 kWh |
| Peak DC charging | 420 kW | 420 kW | 420 kW | 420 kW |
| 10–80% time | ~14 min | ~14 min | ~12 min | ~14 min |
| 0–100% time | ~25 min | ~25 min | ~21 min | ~25 min |
| AC charging | 11 kW | 11 kW | 11 kW | 11 kW |
| 0–100% AC time | ~8 h 38 min | ~8 h 38 min | ~7 h 10 min | ~8 h 38 min |
Peak charging speed is reached at approximately 14% SoC and tapers gradually. At 80% SoC the charge rate is approximately 191 kW. The optimum charging window for the 100 kWh battery is 5–67% SoC.
